YEARLING SALES
FEATURE: The Circus Comes To Town-
Have you ever wondered what it's like to actually
work at yearling sales?
As Yallambee Stud's
Christie Woodard points out, it's not all beer and
skittles (although sales staff have been known to
down a beer or three at the end of a long day!).
In this feature Christie reveals the triumphs and
tragedy, the serious and silliness associated with
selling future racehorses.
• STABLE FAVOURITE Fill The Page-
Expectations weren't high when the folk from Inglis
forked out $12,000 for a Dane Shadow filly at the
2009 Scone Yearling Sale … they would have been
just happy to see their pride and joy fill her pedigree
page with a win or two. But now she's up and won
the Canberra Cup and added some well deserved
black type to add to her page.
